The Herring Group is an executive-level consulting organization focused on helping our clients realize healthy margins. Utilizing your CFO, Controller or FP&A experience, you will implement and customize our proprietary system, “The Path to 12%” to help landscape business owners increase their profit margins.
Our process also improves the life margin of the owners – a welcome change. Our clients see tremendous value in our services and typically become long-term partners and referrers of new business. We tend to have the feel of a start-up, but without the risk.
This role has the potential to evolve into a more strategic partnership with our Founder and CEO, where you would help explore ways to grow and expand the business, explore adjacent markets and leverage our current hold on the market.

I was looking for a part-time professional position and was thrilled when I found The Herring Group. The fact the position is 100% remote was icing on the cake. We provide financial consulting services to growing Landscape companies. The work is part contractor (preparing reports and analysis), part consultant (providing finance and accounting expertise), and part coach (meeting with clients and their teams through virtual meetings). We have a collaborative team and professional and engaged clients. Life balance is a priority for our team and a goal we aim to achieve for our clients.

- Degree in Accounting
- FP&A / Controller / CFO Experience
- Big 4 and/or Consulting experience preferred
- Strong analytical ability & attention to detail
